Education

"It is today we must create the world of the future." - Eleanor Rossevelt

At Interval House of Ottawa we do more than help women who have experienced violence. Our dream is that one day there will no longer be a need for women’s safe houses to exist. We want to eradicate violence against women altogether.

Through the Community Engagement program, we attempt to enlighten and educate our residents and the community by offering presentations on healthy relationships and family violence. We have presented to schools, workplaces, religious institutions, men’s groups, focus groups, community group meetings, and many other groups. Interval House of Ottawa actively works towards providing our community with a better understanding of violence and its impact in the hope that more education will lead to less tolerance for violence, thus less violence within the lives of women and their children.
