WOMAN ABUSE PREVENTION MONTH
November is Woman Abuse Prevention Month in the province of Ontario. Established in 1986, Woman Abuse Prevention Month is official and public acknowledgment of the issues surrounding violence against women.
The month includes the “16 Days of Activism Against Gender Violence” campaign, an international effort to link violence against women to human rights. The 16-day period links two significant dates:November 25–International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women & December 10–International Human Rights Day.
Also included in the 16 days are:
- November 29: International Women Human Rights Defenders Day
- December 1: World AIDS Day
- December 6: National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women

In Love and In Danger
In Love and In Danger is a collaboration between Family Services à la famille Ottawa and Ottawa schools to explore the issue of teen dating violence.
