Started in 2012 by Beendigen, Talk4Healing has provided over 30,000 Indigenous women and their families with real-world solutions, without judgment, in a safe and accepting environment.

Local Crisis Lines

Unsafe at Home Ottawa is a secure text and online chat service for women and members of 2SLGBTQ+ communities in Ottawa and Lanark County who may be living through increased violence and abuse at home or in their intimate or romantic relationship.

SASC Ottawa strives to be a safe space for survivors of all intersections, and believes a commitment to end gender-based violence is centered in the foundation of anti-oppressive values. 

Crisis Line 24/7 (English) 24hr Line: 613-562-2333.

 

Services available 7 days a week for survivors of sexual violence, supporters, family and friends of survivors. Accompaniment can be arranged through the crisis line to hospital and police.

Minwaashin Lodge provides a range of programs and services to First Nations, Inuit and Métis women and children (regardless of status) who are survivors of domestic and other forms of violence, and who may also be suffering the effects of the residential school system. All programs and services are provided in the context of cultural beliefs and values to ensure a holistic approach is used as part of the healing journey.  

Immigrant Women Services Ottawa is a community-based agency serving immigrant and racialized women. IWSO creates opportunities for women as they integrate into a new society, rebuild their lives free of violence, and achieve their personal goals.  

Canadian Network for the Prevention of Elder Abuse (CNPEA) features information and links to resources to get help if you or someone you know is experiencing abuse or neglect as an older adult.

CFS Ottawa offers hope and support to Ottawa residents facing challenges like mental health issues and gender-based violence. Through counselling, education, outreach, and advocacy, we help people of all ages develop coping strategies and practical solutions. Our services are available to all Ottawa residents, regardless of income, faith, culture, gender, or sexual identity.

Kind Space is dedicated to providing a diverse, protective, and nonjudgmental environment for individuals to explore and understand their gender and sexuality through their intersecting identities and experiences. Kind offers peer-run discussion groups, counseling services, and educational programs in a diverse and sex-positive environment.

MAX Ottawa is a community-based organization that focuses on maximizing the health and wellness of gay, bisexual, Two-spirit, queer, and other guys who are into guys, both cis and trans in the Ottawa region.
